Five signs it’s worth a session
- A tight spot that stretching and foam-rolling won’t shift.
- A niggle that flares with the same movement every time.
- You’ve upped your training and something’s grumbling.
- Desk-bound days leaving your neck, shoulders or lower back stiff.
- You recover slower than you used to and everything feels ‘stuck’.
What actually happens
A 40-minute session starts with a quick chat about what’s bothering you, then targeted work on the muscle groups causing it — not a generic rub-down. You’ll get honest feedback on what’s tight and why, and a couple of things to do between sessions. It’s by appointment and open to non-members, so you don’t have to train here to book.
It’s a tool, not a cure-all
Massage helps tight, overworked tissue and speeds recovery. It won’t fix a problem that’s really about how you move or train — that’s what coaching is for. Used alongside sensible training it keeps you moving well; used instead of it, it’s a temporary patch.
Common questions
Do I have to be a member?
No. Sports massage is open to non-members, by appointment.
Will it hurt?
Targeted work can be firm, but it should never be unbearable. The therapist works to your feedback the whole way through.
