Courses & education

Get qualified
where the work is.

A full education arm inside a working gym — 7 accredited courses across nutrition, coaching and sports therapy, taught on the floor rather than in a classroom with no kit. Accredited by Active IQ and taught and assessed by Tony and Leanne, both still coaching every week.

Accredited by Active IQ

7 real qualifications,
taught on the floor.

From nutrition to coaching to sports therapy — proper industry qualifications, the kind that let you work in any gym in the country, taught where sessions actually run. Study one, or build a full CV across all three.

Nutrition
Level 2

Award in Understanding Nutrition, Performance and Healthy Eating

Where nutrition starts — how food actually fuels training and recovery, what a balanced diet looks like in practice, and how to coach the basics of eating for results without the fad-diet nonsense.

No entry requirements — a straight-in start

Level 3

Award in Nutrition for Exercise and Health

Deeper into nutritional coaching: telling credible information from noise, the nutrients that drive health and performance, fuelling and recovery, working out energy needs, and analysing what a client actually eats so your advice fits their life.

Needs a Level 2 fitness qualification

Level 4

Certificate in Nutrition Coaching

The advanced qualification — individualised, evidence-based nutrition coaching. Digestion and how the body uses nutrients, adapting for different populations, consultation and behaviour-change psychology, and reading the research rather than the headlines.

Advanced coaching — habits, not prescribed diets

Coaching & fitness
Level 2

Certificate in Gym Instructing

The industry entry qualification — the one that gets you on a gym floor. Plan, deliver and supervise safe, effective sessions on a gym floor: anatomy and physiology that actually applies, how to induct someone properly, and how to coach the kit (free weights especially) with confidence.

No formal entry requirements — the floor licence

Level 3

Diploma in Personal Training

The personal trainer qualification — the one that lets you work unsupervised, employed or self-employed. Advanced anatomy and physiology, lifestyle and medical factors, consultation and behaviour-change conversations, programming for different clients, plus the business side of running your own PT.

Needs a Level 2 fitness qualification

Level 4

Certificate in Strength and Conditioning

The advanced coaching qualification, and the one that steps up to athletes. Where the S&C coach sits in an athlete's support team, performance needs analysis and testing, then planning, delivering and reviewing periodised programmes against real performance goals.

Needs Level 3 PT or coaching — the athlete route

Sports therapy
Level 3

Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy

Soft-tissue and sports-massage therapy, taught and assessed hands-on. Anatomy, assessment and treatment of dysfunctional tissue, and running a treatment properly start to finish. Scope is dysfunctional tissue — acute injuries and diagnosed conditions stay with a physio or GP.

No entry requirements — leads to Level 4

Who teaches and assesses you

Everything runs directly through Active IQ — they issue the certificates themselves, so what you finish with is a nationally recognised qualification, not an in-house certificate.

Leanne is a registered Active IQ lecturer, assessor and verifier — she delivers the qualifications and signs them off.

Tony teaches across every module: a degree in sports science, a teaching qualification, and his own assessor and verifier awards — registered with Active IQ.

Taught by someone who does this at the top level. Alongside FitBox, Tony is Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for Everton Football College's international teams — the same strength and conditioning work that goes into elite student athletes is what runs on the gym floor here.
