Privacy policy.
What happens to your information when you use this site, contact us, or train with us — in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.
Who we are
PT Zone @ FitBox is a coach-led gym at Unit 6 Nelsons Business Park, Long Lane, Aintree, Liverpool L9 7BN, run by Tony Wignall. For the purposes of UK data protection law Tony Wignall is the “data controller” for the information below. You can reach us on 07883 877248, by email at l9fitnessbox@hotmail.com, or by post at that address.
What this website collects
We use Google Analytics, but only if you agree to it — and there is no advertising or cross-site tracking on this website at all. When you first arrive you are asked. Choose Reject and nothing Google-owned is ever loaded and no analytics cookie is set. Choose Accept and Google Analytics sets cookies that tell us which pages people find useful — visitor numbers and popular pages, not who you are. You can change your mind any time via Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.
Aside from that, simply reading these pages does not hand us your name or your email address. The only information you actively give us is what you choose to type into an enquiry form on the Therapy, Courses or Contact pages, and send — or into the assistant, if it cannot answer something and you ask us to come back to you.
| Cookie | Set by | What for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells one visitor from another, anonymously | 2 years |
| _ga_… | Google Analytics | Keeps track of a single visit | 2 years |
| fbx_consent_v1 | This website | Remembers your cookie choice. Stored in your browser and never sent to us | Until you clear it |
The two Google cookies are only ever set if you press Accept.
A few third parties help serve the site and may receive limited technical information such as your IP address:
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site and keeps short-term security logs.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces the pages are set in.
- Google Maps provides the map on the contact page and may set its own cookies.
- Resend delivers your enquiry-form message to us by email if you send one.
The enquiry form
The Therapy, Courses and Contact pages have a short enquiry form. If you fill it in and send it, we receive the name, email address, phone number (only if you add one) and message you enter, so we can reply and help with what you asked about — nothing more, and the form sets no cookie. Your message is delivered to us by email through Resend, our email provider, and we reply from our own inbox. We keep enquiries only as long as we need to deal with them; ones that don't become bookings are not kept indefinitely.
Booking a class or a membership
Our timetable, bookings and memberships run on TeamUp. When you tap a booking link you leave this website and go to TeamUp, where you may create an account and enter your name, contact details and payment information. TeamUp processes that on our behalf so we can run your membership and bookings, and has its own privacy policy.
If you phone us or message us
If you ring, message, or speak to a coach about personal training or sports massage, we hold what you tell us so we can help — your name, contact details, and any health or training information you choose to share so a coach can train you safely.
Health information is a special category of data under UK GDPR. We only collect it where you volunteer it for your own safety, keep it to the coaches who need it, and never share it outside the gym without your explicit consent.
Why we're allowed to hold it
- Contract — to provide the membership, classes, training or treatment you booked.
- Legitimate interests — to run the gym, reply to enquiries and keep the site secure.
- Consent — for anything you actively opt into. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep records, for example for tax.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anybody else's marketing. Only the services that let us run the gym — our booking platform, payment provider and accountant — and where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Membership and booking records for as long as you train with us and a period afterwards. Financial records for six years to meet HMRC requirements. Enquiries that don't become memberships are not kept indefinitely.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, ask us to delete it where we don't have to keep it, restrict or object to processing, ask for it in a portable format, or withdraw consent. Email l9fitnessbox@hotmail.com, ring 07883 877248, or write to us at the gym. We'll respond within one month.
Complaints
Tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data we'll update this page and the date at the top.
